BEING PART OF THE ACTION- A TRUE STORY
As mature Post-50 People in our fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth decades, our colleagues at The Sage Companion Project decided to
respond to the times. We objected to "sitting on the bench" and
recognized the time was here for a game changer - that being the
immense buying power of "boomers" that could influence a new vision of
aging- AND WE DESIRED TO BE PART OF THE ACTION!
Ah Yes! The time had come to get off that bench and energize a
creative outlet- something that could really be of value! But how?
SO MANY QUESTIONS sbi love |
We set out to find the way to share our wisdom. AS "MATURE ENTREPRENEURS" we were eager to learn and use our influence to bring about change with compassion. We found a web site design and development solution that could reach across social media channels and make it easy to share valuable information with stakeholders. There were so many QUESTIONS that came up! We found good answers when we read these FREE eBooks. ONWARD! |
GETTING MOTIVATED FOR SUCCESS

Step One
Challenge: Present a New Vision of Aging to" tribes of talented individuals who are connected, mutually trustful and
supported by one another [and who] are in a position- create a movement, to
deliver items of value, to move ideas forward faster than any individual
ever could...."~ S. Godin
Plan: We weren't sure - but it seemed that if we were going to approach this challenge via social media, first, we would need software.
Hurdles:
a) We totally WERE NOT techies. And that is for sure. You might say we are “slightly geeky.” <G>
b) We have never done this before.
Step Two
The Journey: After doing the research, (READING THOSE FREE EBOOKS) we chose to go ahead with this new venture-despite the challenges and regardless of age or physical abilities. We chose to learn how to design and develop an online magazine.
And we selected and are utilizing the
SBI system.
SBI walked us through the essential steps that allowed us to create,
optimize, and enjoy the fruits of THE
SAGE COMPANION QUARTERLY website. Yes! We
learned how to implement proper SEO techniques and analyze traffic- but that’s
not all!
It has turned out to be everything we hoped it would be -and more- and we continue to marvel at the magic we can make happen with these "wands."
We are so pleased with the look and feel of this site! It continues to improve and that is easy for us to accomplish.
Cost?? About $1/day
SBI eliminates barriers- freeing us to focus on building The Sage Companion Project. .We are excited about all this, but it does not repeal a fundamental law ...(Step Three)
Step Three
It takes time, work and persistence to build a genuine, long-term opportunity with equity, and the ability to deliver VALUE.
